MORTLACH 10 ans NAS Decadent Drinks

We bottled half of this sherry butt of 2012 Mortlach at 48.5% for our Winter 2022 Equinox & Solstice release - this is the other half of that cask at natural cask strength. Originally matured for about 8 years in a refill hogshead, this whisky was then double matured for over two years in 1st fill sherry wood. The result, at cask strength, is a full-powered, traditionally earthy, meaty and robust Mortlach. Modern, clean, powerful and deeply satisfying sherried whisky.

Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler of whisky and other fine spirits. Angus MacRaild - also author of the WhiskySponge blog - is the founder. His philosophy is quality, fun and not taking life too seriously. This quirky side can be seen both in his blog and on the labels of his bottlings with this sponge character in a wide variety of styles.
These bottlings, mostly single casks, are divided into different brands such as the Spongeverse, Equinox & Solstice and Equilibrium. The Spongeverse includes WhiskySponge, RumSponge, CognacSponge, ArmagnacSponge and WineSponge.
