KONTEKI Tokubetsu Junmai

Konteki Sake is a brand of Higashiyama Brewery, located in the south of Kyoto city. The brewmaster, Mr. Yasuo Hosaka has more than 40 years of experience in sake making. He and his team respect the traditional style of sake making. Each variety of rice used has its own taste characteristics and Higashiyama Brewery tries to bring them out in their sake. For Konteki sake, the rice used is Yamadanishiki, specially grown in Tottori Prefecture, the highest quality variety of rice. The taste of Konteki sake is thus rich and aromatic. The spring water used is called "Fushimizu", coming from the Fushimi region, which is famous for having a very pure water source. Sake is 80% water, so Fushimizu is a key ingredient in the making of Konteki sake. The color of the sake is not transparent, but a bright yellow, because the brewery filters their sake gently to preserve the original flavor of the sake. Konteki sake is a traditional and authentic sake. Konteki Tokubetsu Junmai is the first batch of Konteki sake. It is a pure sake, with no alcohol added during the brewing process, a guarantee of quality (junmai).
