CHARTREUSE Verte Mignonnettes

One of the world's most popular liqueurs, Chartreuse liqueurs have their origins in a formula handed down to the monks of the Chartreuse de Vauvert in Paris in 1605. Prepared from a secret recipe of herbs, the first version is still marketed as Elixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse and the green version we know today as Chartreuse Verte was developed from 1764 onwards. Still produced from the same plants and roots by two monks of the order, Chartreuse Verte can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in numerous cocktails, such as the famous Last Word (maraschino liqueur, green chartreuse, gin and lime juice).
