Bunnahabhain presents this limited edition of the 12-Year-Old, a new version of which is introduced each year. Rough cask bottling of the 12 Year Old intensifies the essential characteristics of the spices, but not at the expense of its character. The whisky's mouthfeel and texture are powerful, emphasizing the balance of alcohol and wood, but in a more concentrated form. It is the true incarnation of Bunnahabhain in the bottle. With Bunnahabhain 12 Years Cask Strength, we hand-select the casks that make up the batch, according to cask type and profile. We choose from a selection of first- and second-fill Oloroso casks and balance with a small percentage of bourbon. As this is a cask product, the alcohol content will naturally vary - in 2022, the alcohol content was 56.6% compared to this year's version of 60.1%. With a higher alcohol content, certain aromas seem to be more intense and concentrated.
