This Balvenie single malt has been aged for 21 years in traditional barrels and then finished for a few months in barrels that have held prestigious ports for 30 consecutive years.
Nose : mellow notes of precious wood (rosewood) and spices (pepper).
Palate : lovely liveliness, it evolves with citrus fruit.<br>(oranges) and ripe fruit (peaches). Unctuous notes of fresh grapes and light rancio (very ripe fruit, apricots, walnuts) underscore the port barrel finish.
Overall : characterised by subtle notes of undergrowth (oak, mushrooms), it also reveals the bitter-sweetness of malted barley.
