The limited edition "Hearts Collection" lives up to its name. Crafted in the heart of Jamaica, the pot still rums in this limited edition use the heart of the distillation process. The heart symbolizes the shared passion of Joy Spence, Appleton's Master Blender, and Luca Gargano, one of the world's most renowned rum collectors.
The congeners present in this 100% pot still rum give the spirit a unique, complex yet fruity and syrupy aroma. Appleton Estate pot still rums are distilled in an all-copper pot still made exclusively for Appleton Estate rum by Scottish boilermaker Forsyths.
Most leading rum producers blend several recipes, or marks, to develop different expressions. The Hearts Collection is Appleton Estate's very first series of single-mark rums. The uniqueness of this 1998 vintage rum lies in the fact that it has been aged for 25 years, whereas most other single-mark rums on the market are aged for 10 to 12 years.
This unique edition is the result of a blend of casks 417649 and 422371 to 422388, for a total of just 19 casks. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2023, aged for 25 tropical years in the Jamaican climate (63% alcohol content), the 1998 vintage celebrates the exceptional stock of aging spirits kept at Appleton Estate.
