After the Nagakumo Ichiban Bashi shochu featured in the Antipodes Creations catalogue, now discover this version produced with unrefined sugar from canes grown on the largest island of the Nansei archipelago, Amami Oshima. A blend of two vintages, 2018 and 2021, this expression has been aged in enamel vats and ventures with rare acuity into the world of wine and fruit spirits. Its incredibly complex and pure palette of flavours and aromas is also remarkably fresh.

Nose : Full, ethereal. The syrupy first nose (fresh cane sugar) is also floral (rose, carnation) and spicy (white pepper). Allowed to breathe, the aroma palette becomes like an outstanding Chenin white wine such as a leading Montlouis.

Appearance : Incolore.

Palate : Rich, full-bodied. On the attack, sweet and salty flavours delicately coat the taste buds. Then, unexpectedly, raspberry and pear notes are revealed. The connection with the world of fruit spirits is tangible.

Overall : Long, silky. The start of the finish is tactile and invites us to bite into a variety of fruits. The fibrous after-taste (sugar cane) becomes particularly rich (vanilla flan, lemon meringue tart).
