LAGG
Opening in 2019, the Lagg distillery on the southern tip of Arran in Scotland, in the agricultural heartland of the island, aims to produce only the highest quality peated single malt. The Lagg distillery also intends to experiment. On the one hand, with peat from different areas, not only in Scotland but also further afield. And on the other, with barley, as the surrounding fields have been planted to produce Arran barley, which will be used in the future to produce a 100% Isle of Arran whisky.
The distillery now offers 2 permanent edition single malts. The first, LAGG Kilmory, named after the county in which the small village of Lagg is located, is the distillery's flagship reference, aged 100% in first-fill bourbon casks and peated at 50ppm. The second, LAGG Corriecravie, named after the small hamlet to the north-west of the village of Lagg, which offers magnificent views of the island's south coast, is aged first in bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks for around 6 months.
