BUFFALO TRACE

Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, Buffalo Trace is the most awarded distillery in the world and the oldest still operating distillery in the United States. Originally known as "Old Fire Copper," then renamed George T. Stagg in 1900, it was one of four distilleries in the United States authorized to produce whiskey for medicinal purposes during Prohibition. Renamed Buffalo Trace in 1999, it has been named Distillery of the Year 8 times since 2000 and Distiller of the Year 3 times. A specialist in maturation, the distillery has more than 25,000 experimental barrels which allow it to study different types of aging.
