Produced with 74% rye, 11% corn and 15% malted barley, this version draws clear parallels with the single barrel #22627 featured in our New Vibrations catalogue. The flavour and aroma palette is just as impressive and, in one year, has developed a varied and tropical fruitiness that pushes the rye’s creamy, rustic notes into the background. The same floral, lemon and herbaceous notes are found in both expressions.
Nose : fleshy, rich. The aroma palette is very expressive, opening with concentrated notes of candied lemon, tropical fruit (banana, pineapple), wildflower honey and vanilla. It then moves into more heady (broom, mimosa) and peppery lands.
Appearance : vieil or.
Palate : lively yet creamy. With citrus notes providing rhythm, the attack reveals both creamy notes and vanilla. Mirabelle plum, fresh walnut and herbaceous flavours (cut hay) then come together in perfect harmony.
Overall : long, silky. The finish is juicy (white grape, candied pear), with a very delicate, grainy texture. Equally rich (flan), it is like biting into a liquorice stick. Refreshing menthol and grain notes (rye) are found on the retro-nasal olfaction.
